August 31, 2007. Consortium approach plus Civica’s managed services give SA libraries cost-effective solution . Three relatively small library services in South Australia have discovered the most efficient and cost-effective way to run their computerised library management systems. First, the library services at The Barossa Council, Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council, and Light Regional Council formed the LINK Consortium to share their costs. Then they began a careful search for the most suitable solution for their 13 libraries. Finally, in mid-2006, they went live with Civica’s managed services model, based on the Spydus library management system, which runs their computing operations seamlessly from Melbourne while freeing library staff to look after their customers. <<more>>

Mar 28, 2008	Civica acquired by 3i Investments. Privite equity firm 3i Investments, through a new company Cornwall Bidco begin the process of acquiring all shares of Civica. Company valued £190.0 million, 270 pence per share.
Mar 1, 2004	Civica Plc. flotation on the AIM stock exchange. Civica is raising £15 million of new money from the offer and is placing £30 million on behalf of existing shareholders. On admission, the Group will be valued at approximately £79.2 million.
May 13, 2002	Civica formed by Sanderson. Sanderson, a leading global provider of software and services, announces it has integrated its public sector and complementary businesses into a single organisation under the brand name Civica.

Dick Goodram and David Fraser worked with AMA to create an Australian version of the system, named URICA.26. based on Pick. By the 1980’s it was the best selling system in Australia.
