April 9, 2012. Ohio Public Libraries get COOL with Evergreen and Equinox. Community Library in Sunbury and Germantown Public Library are the first libraries to go live with Evergreen as part of the new Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL). Equinox Software, in conjunction with OHIONET who is providing hosting and primary system administration for the consortium, oversaw data migration, provided training services, and will continue to provide advanced technical support in a continued partnership with OHIONET. <<more>>


February 13, 2012. Equinox Software announces telephony implementation. Equinox Software announced the successful Evergreen implementation of a telephony notification system powered by Asterisk. The Davidson County Public Library System, part of the North Carolina Cardinal consortium, piloted an early version of the system which is also now being used at King County Library System. This system allows patrons to receive automated calls alerting them that items on hold are ready for pick-up. It also allows the library to send out reminders to patrons that their items are due and need to be renewed or returned. <<more>>


January 25, 2012. Equinox Software announces Canadian subsidiary. Equinox Software, Inc. announced the formation of a wholly-owned Canadian-based subsidiary, Equinox Library Services Canada. ELSC was formed in response to Canadian libraries requesting that ILS systems be physically located in Canada; all ESLC hosting services will be provided from a Toronto datacenter. ELSC will also provide implementation, support, training, and other services for Evergreen and Koha. <<more>>


January 9, 2012. Chris Sharp and Tara Robertson Awarded Code4Lib Conference Scholarships from Equinox Software . Equinox Software announced that Chris Sharp from Georgia Public Library Service and Tara Robertson from Emily Carr University of Art + Design will receive scholarships to the Code4Lib Conference in Seattle, Washington. The award includes reimbursement for registration as well as travel and accommodation expenses. <<more>>


December 1, 2011. Equinox Software announces two scholarships for Code4Lib conference. Equinox Software is proud to announce two scholarships for the Code4Lib Conference in Seattle, WA February 6-9 2012. Equinox Software will reimburse travel and accommodation expenses up to $750.00 for two full-time library staff members from libraries currently running Evergreen or Koha ILS. The awardees will also receive free registration to Code4Lib.Applicants will need to submit a current resume including all contact information and experience as well as an essay of no more than 750 words describing their library’s mission and commitment to open source, how attendance will benefit the applicant, how they intend to share the benefit of the experience with colleagues at their library, and a description of budget constraints pertinent to the applicants situation. <<more>>


November 30, 2011. Equinox Software announces building purchase and move. Equinox Software is excited to announce that the company has purchased a new office building and will be relocating to 3850 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Duluth, GA. Moving day is currently set for Saturday, December 3rd with all operations expected to be up and running on Monday, December 5th. <<more>>


November 16, 2011. Santa Cruz Public Library goes live on Evergreen. The Santa Cruz Public Library has gone live as the first public library in California to use Evergreen. Equinox Software provided data migration and training services and will continue to provide on-going technical support. The Santa Cruz Public Library consists of 10 branches and a book mobile. Their collection also includes materials from the county law library. 237,000 bibliographic records were loaded to the new system, and the library provides services for over 90,000 patrons. <<more>>


October 20, 2011. Evergreen announces site for 2013 International Conference. The Evergreen Conference Site Selection Committee is pleased to announce that the 2013 Evergreen International Conference will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia April 10 through April 13 2013. This marks the first time that the conference will be held outside of the United States. Equinox Software is proud to support the 2013 committee and will serve as a conference sponsor. <<more>>


October 20, 2011. North Bay Public Library goes live on Evergreen. The North Bay Public Library in Ontario has gone live with Evergreen as their next generation library automation software. Equinox Software oversaw installation and data migration and will continue to provide technical support for the new system. <<more>>


September 8, 2011. Evergreen turns 5 and reaches 1,000 Libraries. Evergreen, an open-source integrated library system, celebrated its 5th anniversary with the addition of its 1,000th library. NC Cardinal, the newest Evergreen consortium, took the official number of libraries live to 1,006 when the Buncombe County Public Libraries migrated on September 2nd. <<more>>


August 25, 2011. Ducks Unlimited Canada now live On Koha. Ducks Unlimited Canada has gone live with the open source integrated library system Koha. Equinox Software, Inc. provided services to migrate the library's data from their previous system and provides on-going hosting and support services for the new Koha-powered catalog <<more>>


August 17, 2011. Evergreen community continues rapid growth in 2011. The community of Evergreen libraries has had a busy six months (January through June, 2011) owing to the addition of 114 library systems with 140 separate branches and outlets. This six-month experience eclipsed the growth seen in the community in any previous year. <<more>>


June 21, 2011. Equinox Software is off to the Big Easy. Equinox staff members will be presenting programs and serving as panelists for discussions at the American Library Association Annual Meeting in New Orleans. <<more>>


June 14, 2011. Sage Library System of Oregon adds nine new libraries to Evergreen. Sage Library System of Eastern Oregon has added nine new libraries to Evergreen. The former Gorge Link libraries: Hood River County Library District (3), Hood River Valley High School, Sherman County Public/School Library, Planetree Health Center, and The Dalles/Wasco County Service District (3) are now live on Evergreen. Equinox Software oversaw data migration for the new libraries and will continue to provide technical support for all the Sage Libraries. <<more>>


April 13, 2011. Skagit Evergreen Libraries Consortium Goes Live. Burlington Public Library, La Conner Public Library, and the Upper Skagit Library District have gone live on Evergreen as a newly formed consortium, Skagit Evergreen Libraries. Equinox Software performed installation, data migration, and staff training, and will continue to provide technical support. Located in Skagit County, Washington, the Skagit Evergreen Libraries provide service to about 15,000 patrons. Their new combined catalog consists of almost 80,000 bibliographic items. <<more>>


March 1, 2011. SC LENDS continues to grow on Evergreen. SC LENDS, the South Carolina library resource sharing network powered by the open source integrated library system Evergreen, continues its rapid growth with the addition of four library systems. The Allendale-Hampton-Jasper Regional Library System, Colleton County Memorial Library, Kershaw County Library, and Williamsburg County Library are now live as part of the consortium. <<more>>


February 28, 2011. Northwest Indian College Lummi Library now live on Evergreen. Northwest Indian College’s library at the Lummi Campus, located near Bellingham, Washington, has gone live with Evergreen library software as their next generation Integrated Library System (ILS). Equinox Software oversaw the migration of data from the College’s previous system, provided staff training, and will continue to provide technical support. <<more>>


January 27, 2011. Three Alberta Colleges Now Live with Koha as new consortium Southern Alberta Libraries of Theology. Alberta Bible College, Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and College, and Rocky Mountain College have gone live with Koha as their next generation ILS, creating a new consortium that will be called Southern Alberta Libraries of Theology, or SALT. Equinox Software oversaw the installation and migration of data from their previous systems and is providing hosting and technical support for the new consortium. <<more>>


January 7, 2011. Sage Library System of Eastern Oregon Goes Live with Evergreen. Sage Library System of Eastern Oregon has gone live with Evergreen as their next generation ILS. Equinox Software, Inc oversaw the installation and migration of data from their previous system. Sage Library System of Eastern Oregon consists of 63 public and school libraries. The University of Eastern Oregon library is also a member and the university provides hosting services for the consortium. <<more>>


October 26, 2010. Lebanon Schools and Douglas-North Canaan Library Go Live on Evergreen. The Lebanon School Libraries and Douglas-North Canaan Library have gone live with Evergreen open source ILS as the latest BibliOak Libraries. BibliOak is the consortium of development partner libraries for Bibliomation. Equinox Software assisted with the migrations and continues to provide ongoing technical support for all the Bibliomation development partner libraries. <<more>>
