Nielsen has been named Vice President of Strategic Accounts. Nielsen, who was most recently VP of Product Management at Polaris Library Systems and before that served in a similar capacity at SirsiDynix, brings more than 25 years of experience in designing, marketing, and selling library technology systems and services. Innovative Interfaces announced that the Innovative Users Group (IUG) has concluded its 21st-Annual Conference. Innovative Interfaces, Inc. and OverDrive, the leading full-service digital distributor of eBooks, agreed on plans for deep API integration of OverDrive services into III products, including Sierra and Encore Discovery Services Platform. March 4, 2013. Innovative integrates SkyRiver operations: Company will discontinue legal action against OCLC. Innovative Interfaces announced that all operations of sister company SkyRiver Technology Solutions, Inc. will be integrated into Innovative and that the SkyRiver cataloging service will become part of Innovative's product suite. In addition, Innovative has decided to withdraw the claims of the antitrust suit filed in 2010 and currently pending in federal court in Ohio. <<more>>

Helsinki Metropolitan Area Libraries (Finland) upgrades to Sierra Services Platform. elsinki Metropolitan Area Libraries (HelMET) is upgrading to the Sierra Services Platform from the Millennium ILS. HelMET is comprised of the city libraries of Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen, and Vantaa and serves more than a million customers in the metropolitan area. February 1, 2013. Innovative News: Huntsman Gay Global Capital and JMI Equity purchase remaining shares of Innovative Interfaces. Innovative Interfaces announced that Huntsman Gay Global Capital and JMI Equity now fully own the company, having purchased the remaining shares from Innovative's founder, Jerry Kline. December 19, 2012. Institute of Social Sciences Information (Vietnam) selects Millennium. The Institute of Social Sciences Information in Vietnam has selected the Millennium ILS. ISSI is a government research organization tasked with providing scientific information on issues and trends in social sciences in Vietnam and worldwide. Under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, ISSI also conducts, coordinates, and assists professional activities in the field of Library and Information Science. Innovative Interfaces announced that Jayanthi "Jay" Shankar has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Services and Support. Jay has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry and has displayed strong leadership throughout her career in the areas of customer support and engineering. Most recently, Jay served as Vice President of Customer Support at BMC Software, which provides enterprise-level technology for IT organizations around the world. November 6, 2012. Scottsdale Public Library (AZ) promotes local history with online StoryTour Collection. The Scottsdale Public Library recently debuted its online Papago Salado StoryTour Collection. The collection includes historical images and stories that connect the authentic history of the Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe regions in Arizona with specific buildings and places. Audio clips of first-person narrative stories provide short accounts about the people and events that shaped the community over time. Visitors to the Library's website have access to the collection through Content Pro, Innovative's digital collection management solution. Audio clips of the stories can also be accessed at the physical locations of the historical sites via a mobile device. <<more>>

Innovative Interfaces, Inc. announced that it has received a strategic investment from Huntsman Gay Global Capital, a leading middle market private equity firm, and JMI Equity, a leading growth equity firm focused on investing in growing software, internet, business services and healthcare IT companies. Innovative Founder and Chairman Jerry Kline will continue to be directly involved in the Company’s overall operation as Chairman of the Board and shareholder of the Company. SkyRiver Technology Solutions, a provider of library metadata, also owned by Kline, received investment on the same terms. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Innovative Interfaces announced that Jerry Kline, co-founder and CEO, has reached an agreement to purchase the outstanding shares of the company from co-founder Steve Silberstein. Upon closing of the transaction, which is expected by the end of the year, Kline will assume full ownership of the company.

Innovative Interfaces, Inc., purchased SLS Information Systems of Great Britain. SLS has over 700 installations in Europe, including more than 50 in academic libraries. Its primary product is Libertas. SLS was owned by 16 UK universities. Innovative purchased all of the outstanding stock for cash. The deal includes subsidiaries in Scandinavia (Stockholm) and Spain (Madrid) . SLS currently has a staff of 46 people.

OhioLINK is the first in which all activity of the separate local library systems is recorded and displayed immediately in the statewide union catalog. The OhioLINK INNOPAC statewide union catalog went online for the public on November 11, 1992, with 2.4 million bibliographic records from six university libraries, including: Case Western Reserve, Bowling Green, University of Cincinnati, Miami University, Central State University and Wright State University.

The European University Institute's recent installation of the INNOPAC library automation system marks the entry of Innovative Interfaces, Inc., into the European market.
