| Other Info: | La Bibliothèque Municipale Antonin Perbosc doit son nom à l’un des ses anciens bibliothécaires. Elle fut fondée, en fait, comme bon nombre de bibliothèques françaises, par un chanoine, Bertrand de La Tour, qui légua par testament sa bibliothèque aux Frères des Ecoles Chrétiennes, à charge pour eux de l’ouvrir au public, ce qui fut fait en 1780. Après la Révolution, elle fut réouverte et devint service municipal en 1812. Au début du 20ème siècle, elle emménagea dans de nouveaux locaux au Square Picart. Un nouveau déménagement intervint en 1975, les locaux étant à nouveau trop petits. Ses fonds patrimoniaux sont donc très importants : 15 000 documents antérieurs à 1810, 16 000 volumes pour le 19ème siècle, 6 500 volumes pour le fonds protestant, 2 000 volumes pour le fonds local. A cela s’ajoutent tous les espaces de lecture publique : Espace Adultes, Espace Enfant, Espace Image et Musiques, Bibliobus. |
