New Directors at BLCMP

Two new directors have been appointed to the BLCMP Board; Grace Kempster and Peter Wright. Grace, who is Chief Librarian at Leeds Library and Information Service, has been extensively involved in developing services in Leeds since she moved from Richmond upon Thames Libraries and Arts Service eighteen months ago. She succeeds Bob McKee as a non-executive Director of BLCMP. Bob has been promoted to Assistant Chief Executive at Solihull Council and no longer has day to day involvement in libraries.
Verna Taylor, County Librarian at Northamptonshire Libraries and Information Service, has now been elected to the position of Deputy Chair of BLCMP.
Peter Wright has taken up the new position of Operations Director and he is responsible for software production, customer support and installations. He brings considerable expertise to BLCMP from his 25 years computer and project management experience with IBM. He began working for BLCMP in a consultancy capacity in January 1994 and has been instrumental in achieving significant improvements in the Software Production and Support areas of the company.
