POMONA, CA. — January 4, 2011 -- Auto-Graphics, Inc., a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for 40 years, today announced that the Winding Rivers Library System (WRLS), a consortium consisting of more than 35 public library locations throughout Wisconsin, has selected AGent VERSO to replace its SirsiDynix Horizon integrated library system (ILS).
"We chose AGent VERSO for two reasons, Auto-Graphics' willingness to work with us to deliver software to meet our goals, and the AGent Iluminar user interface," commented David Goldfein, system administrator at Winding Rivers Library System. "The public wants their library catalog to do two things, look pretty and work similarly to Google - AGent Iluminar does both."
WRLS selected Auto-Graphics' unique hybrid installation model which affords all the benefits inherent with the Software as a Service (SaaS) hosted delivery model, including real-time upgrades and product enhancements, while also allowing the library group to host the system locally. In addition, the hybrid installation model provides a lower total cost of ownership by allowing libraries to implement a new system without the large upfront investment required with a local license.
Libraries within the WRLS consortium will use the NCIP-compliant Circulation Interlibrary Loan Link (CILL) module to considerably decrease the number of steps required to both borrow and lend items. CILL will join the borrowing and lending functionality between WRLS's interlibrary loan (ILL) system, WISCAT - powered by Auto-Graphics' AGent Resource Sharing - and AGent VERSO to increase staff efficiencies and permit patrons to initiate and track their own ILL transactions. WRLS will also make use of the AGent Iluminar user interface which employs inventive, attention-grabbing display technologies and provides patrons and staff with the ability to control their own user experience through a range of customization options. Staff at the WRLS libraries will benefit from the SmartReports reporting module with the ability to create, edit and produce user-defined reports, the EDI X.12-compliant acquisitions module to provide efficient order management, and the serials module for effective subscription collection management.
"WRLS provided Auto-Graphics with a unique set of requirements that we are prepared to meet," said Albert Flores, vice president of sales and marketing at Auto-Graphics. "We are excited that WRLS will be joining other large complex public library consortiums within the state of Wisconsin that have selected AGent VERSO as their replacement ILS system."
