ST PAUL, Minn. March 10, 2011 Plainfield Public Library, the second largest in Union County, New Jersey, has chosen 3M RFID to manage its collection of nearly 200,000. After conducting a thorough evaluation that included full presentations and on-site demonstrations by five prospective vendors, the library felt 3M best met its RFID needs.
Implementation will take place over the next two to three months as the library marks its materials with 3M RFID tags, installs three 3M SelfCheck System R-Series and a 3M Detection System Model 9100 and begins using the 3M Digital Library Assistant.
The library serves the Plainfield residential and business community, as well as residents of many neighboring communities. Its director, Joseph Da Rold, was named 2010 NJ Librarian of the Year' by the New Jersey Library Association.
