Joel Sommerfeldt succeeds Jerk Sintorn, Axiell's incumbent CEO who after 16 years of leadership has decided to step down devoting himself to other tasks in Axiell.

"I'm very pleased with the choice of Joel Sommerfeldt as Axiell's new CEO. Joel has a valuable experience as CEO from several companies and besides that he has great knowledge of one of our big target groups – the library sector - acquired partly from his nearly 10 years as a member of Axiell Group's board and also chairman of the board for Axiell Scandinavia and partly from his previous position as CEO for BTJ AB active in business in Sweden, Denmark and Finland at that time. I'm convinced that with Joel at the helm we will continue the development Axiell has undergone the last years with expansion and new state-of-the-art products," says Mats Hentzel, chairman of Axiell Group AB.

"I look forward to my new challenges as CEO at Axiell. It is a company in growth and with a great potential and it is my goal to continue the expansion strategy Axiell's board has outlined in order to ensure that Axiell will still be perceived as a reliable and innovative partner for archives, libraries and museums," Joel Sommerfeldt says.
