Dr. Chachra, CEO of VTLS Inc. stated: "VTLS Inc. is pleased to further the existing relationship with Vaughan Public Library. The RFID system will work seamlessly with the Virtua ILS and provide greater convenience to the library users, time savings for the staff and additional security for the library. "

"Vaughan Public Libraries is very excited to be introducing another innovation that will help improve efficiencies, enhance customer service and maintain that our collections are secure. We are especially thrilled about the new self check out stations that will offer our customers increased options of renewing their outstanding materials and deciding whether they would like to receive a printed receipt. Our customers are always our first priority and they will appreciate the convenience this offers them," said Margie Singleton, Chief Executive Officer.

The Fastrac installation replaces the previous Checkpoint RFID system. Components of the installation include 3 self-checkout machines, staff stations, RFID gates, self-check table and tower, tagging stations, tagging wands and tags. Vaughan started re-tagging over 500,000 items last August and looks to complete the tagging process in early 2012. Vaughan Public Libraries has been a Virtua customer since 2004.
