Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced today that the PrairieCat Consortium has selected the Sierra Services Platform; the Encore discovery application; and mobile solutions including AirPAC, Encore Mobile, and the SMS Alerts messaging suite. The products will support a large, multi-type library system spanning northern Illinois.
"PrairieCat libraries were impressed with Sierra's up-to-date interface and searching features for staff such as faceted results, as well as the easy navigation between applications," says Judy Hutchinson, PrairieCat LLSAP Services Manager. "We also believe that Sierra will provide excellent reporting tools so that each of our members will be able to retrieve the statistical data they need."
Hutchinson continues: "As a large, multi-type consortium of libraries, PrairieCat's priority is to provide our patrons with a public catalog that meets today's users' needs-easy searching and retrieval of information, convenient access via mobile devices, and self-service features that online users expect. We are very excited to be adding the ability for users to save favorite searches, view personal checkout history, rate materials and more."
The Sierra Services Platform will be on display at the Innovative Interfaces' 2012 Public Library Association Conference exhibit in Philadelphia, PA from March 13 through 16 at Booth #1411. For more information or to schedule press inquiries, contact Gene Shimshock.
