LEHI, UTAH (March 13, 2012) – SirsiDynix, the world's leading provider of library automation solutions, celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the SirsiDynix Developer Community with the opening of a new and improved SirsiDynix Developer Community website. The new developer site provides increased functionality and a fresh, new interface. The SirsiDynix Developer Community, founded by SirsiDynix's Ranny Lacanienta (formerly of the Brigham Young University Harold B. Lee Library) in 2002, is alive and better than ever today with hundreds of code contributions and custom applications created by SirsiDynix customer developers.

"The new SirsiDynix Developer Community website is a celebration of the openness of the SirsiDynix suite of products; but more importantly, it is a celebration of the hundreds of contributions created by SirsiDynix customer developers," said SirsiDynix Chief Executive Officer Bill Davison. "We've seen library developers accomplish incredible extensions and applications through both the SirsiDynix APIs and Web Services, benefitting library users and staff in highly unique and powerful ways."

In honor of the 10-year anniversary, SirsiDynix is awarding the creators of the top three downloaded apps and scripts of all time. Awards will be presented at the SirsiDynix 2012 COSUGI User Group Conference this May in Orlando, Florida. Through the redesigned Developer Community, Davison said SirsiDynix hopes to provide not only the tools but a forum through which library developers can further build, share and expand.

Accessible to all SirsiDynix customers through the SirsiDynix Support Center website, the improved SirsiDynix Developer Community site is live. Customers are encouraged to browse contributions and begin submitting their own code and apps. For more information, visit http://www.sirsidynix.com/sirsidynix-developer-community.
