BOCA RATON, Fla., Sept. 13. US Data Authority, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: USDA) a national Internet carrier and infrastructure company has named Jack B. Blount its Chief Executive Officer. Blount, 48, joins USDA from TeleComputing, Inc. (Oslo: TCO), an ASP services company where he was Chief Technology Officer and Senior V.P. of Market and Business Development.
Blount, who has 25 years of network hardware and software development experience, is best known for pioneering wireless Web browsing using proprietary cache servers, encryption and compression algorithms, and intelligent agent-based profile managers. USDA, formed in January 1999, has been developing a national network, powered by Cisco and Intel networking equipment. The network design maximizes speed, reliability, and security and offers one of the most innovative infrastructures in the nation for rich media content delivery, and network management for fast, reliable Internet, Extranet, and Intranet solutions. Additionally, the company is developing a data storage and recovery solution through the use of EMC2 technology.
In his new position, Blount will help USDA make inroads into the content delivery and ASP service industries. Management believes Blount, an Internet
pioneer who brings vast networking experience and unique vision, adds proven successful leadership visibility to its Tier II network. "Jack's presence is
a major endorsement to the network we've built here," says Adam Reiser, USDA's CTO and one of its co-founders.
Prior to TeleComputing, Blount held the position of Vice President, E-business at J.D. Edwards, where he was responsible for all e-business software design, development and product marketing. Blount spent seven years at Novell, Inc. (NOVL), as Corporate Vice President where he was instrumental in the development and growth of Local Area Networking in the 1980s. He spent eight years at IBM in various positions including the development and launch of the IBM PC, IBM PC Networking, IBM Token-Ring Network, and OS/2.
"We want to establish US Data as a leader in Internet infrastructure and value-added services," says Dominick F. Maggio, Chief Operating Officer. "We hired Jack because of his proven leadership, years of experience in pioneering new markets, and forming strategic partnerships that accelerate the growth of the industry.
