June 22, 2012 -- Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced today that, since its announcement in late January, 2012, 20 public and academic libraries have become early-stage adopters of Decision Center: a new product that provides automated recommendations to optimize collections, fine-tune services, and budget more effectively than ever before. The libraries are: ALIS Corporation (NY), Arapahoe Library District (CO), Biola University (CA), Collier County Public Library (FL), Greene County Public Library (OH), Helsinki City Library (Finland), Marmot Library Network (CO), Mentor Public Library (OH), Middle Country Public Library (NY), Orange County Library System (FL), Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (OH), San Jose Public Library (CA), Saskatchewan Information and Library Services Consortium (Canada), Springfield-Greene County Library (MO), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), Trinity University (TX), University of San Francisco (CA), Waukegan Public Library (IL), Westerville Public Library (OH), and Winston-Salem State University (NC).
Only Decision Center utilizes Innovative's Dynamic Library Intelligence, which pairs current and complete data with library-selected performance targets. Decision Center actively supports library staff by:
Unlike products that only track inventory, Decision Center considers a wider swath of data that spans holds, circulation, expenditures, transit times, item locations, and patron demographics. Decision Center's database is updated daily and examines continuous data through time. Competing products only take a periodic data snapshot. What's more, there is no requirement for staff to offload data to a third-party vendor because Decision Center is an integrated solution and operates seamlessly with either the Millennium ILS or the Sierra Services Platform.
Decision Center will enter beta phase of development in late summer, 2012.
Demonstrations of Decision Center will be available at ALA Annual 2012 at the Innovative Booth #1812. Ben Burbridge, Director of Software Engineering for Decision Center, will be on hand to answer questions and preview this new product on Sunday, June 24th and Monday, June 25th, from 10:00am-12:00pm. For more information or to schedule press inquiries, contact Gene Shimshock.
