CARLSBAD — August 20, 2012 — EOS International, a leader in cloud computing library automation software, is pleased to announce the exciting new Cloud Search Premium Module for EOS.Web.
Through Cloud Search, cloud hosted EOS.Web Libraries can make their local databases available to the Cloud Search community and add databases to be searched by their patrons from a list of remote participating hosted libraries available in Cloud Search.
The New Cloud Search Module includes:
- Privacy Settings: Determine your library's level of participation in the community. Enjoy the benefits of Cloud Search without making your database available to the community, make your database available for searching only upon approved request, or make your database "public" within the community. For libraries with multiple databases, privacy options can be set for each database.
- Automatic Search: Remote libraries can be added to a list of searchable libraries. Remote libraries can be set to be searched automatically without patron intervention or patrons may select which libraries to search from a drop-down list available on OPAC Discovery search screens.
- Multi-Library Search Results: Results are combined into a single, sortable title list. Expandable item information, including location and availability, displays in a list format that can be color-coded for easy identification between local and remote collections. Optionally enable the automatic removal of remote titles from search results when the same title is available locally.
- ILL Shopping Cart: For libraries equipped with the Inter-Library Loan module, an ILL shopping cart is available for use with other ILL EOS.Web hosted libraries to handle the exchange of library materials between Cloud Search libraries. Library logos may also be uploaded as shopping cart images for branding between libraries.
"The EOS.Web Cloud Search Module is something our clients and prospects will find very useful. Participation is easily managed from a single dynamic, intuitive Cloud Search screen", says Jeffrey Goodwin, Vice President of Product Development.
