Villanova, Pennsylvania – October 1, 2012 – A new preview release of the next major version of the VuFind Open Source discovery software has just been made available.
VuFind 2.0 will significantly clean up, standardize and modernize the VuFind code base while also improving ease of installation, maintenance and extensibility. The 2.0beta release is a feature-complete demonstration of the new architecture, which leverages the brand new Zend Framework 2.0 as its foundation.
This beta is not intended for use in production, and some architectural details are still subject to change prior to the full 2.0 release in 2013. However, the code is maturing, and this release should be suitable for use by early adopters willing to follow development closely over the coming months.
