Softlink, Australian-based developer of knowledge, content and library management solutions, has partnered with QBD The Bookshop to deliver the benefits of discounted books and resources for schools through the Oliver Marketplace.

Oliver Marketplace is a complementary and integrated purchasing service available through the leading school library management system and QBD online bookstore, offering Oliver school users 10% off all book purchases in an Australian-wide pilot program.

Softlink Professional Services Director John Crook said Oliver users can simply ‘turn on' the Marketplace function from within Oliver.

Benefits of using the integrated service include:

In an effort to engage users, each week during Term 4, Softlink and QBD are offering schools that place a book order through Marketplace, a chance to win one of eight $100 gift vouchers to spend at QBD.

Mr Mark Robinson, Director of QBD The Bookshop is pleased to support Softlink with an easy way to purchase books online for Oliver users.

"The Marketplace integration with QBD bookstore offers ease of use by having information available at your fingertips. To be able to look at a booklist or set of search results and have this cross-referenced with your collection is a great benefit. It will save heaps of time going between two different systems."

The partnership between Softlink and QBD is a great example of two Australian companies working together to offer greater value to their customers.

John said Softlink is always looking for supplementary services that help school libraries improve efficiencies.

"More than 50% of Australian schools currently use a Softlink solution (including the web-based Oliver) for their knowledge, content and library management," he said.

"Oliver enables schools to seamlessly catalogue, manage, search and deliver digital and traditional resources from a central platform. It is a web-based solution with integrated apps and services to support the latest mobile technology including mobile phones, tablets, e-readers and eBooks."

Marketplace is only available for Oliver v5 Build 4 and above.
