Chicago, ILóNovember 7, 2012. Ex Libris Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce the release of the Voyager 8.2 integrated library system (ILS). This version contains numerous enhancements in all areas of Voyager functionality.
Highlights of version 8.2 include the following:
The new version of Voyager was tested by numerous user institutions, including the United States Library of Congress; the Colorado School of Mines; UCLA; and the National Library of Australia. Their feedback contributed to refining the released software.
"Our Voyager team learned a great deal by participating in the field testing of the new version," remarked Stephen Lacey, ILS manager at the National Library of Australia. "Recent security enhancements, such as controls for password updates, expiration, and format, will help us meet the strict security standards we observe as a national library."
Laura Guy, of the Colorado School of Mines, commented: "We are looking forward to implementing the new version for our staff and user communities. In particular, I welcome the numerous enhancements to the Circulation module, which will facilitate staff members' workflows and improve users' ability to obtain resources."
Bar Veinstein, vice president of resource management solutions at Ex Libris, noted: "Voyager 8.2 offers customers richer functionality, better performance, and tighter integration with the Primo discovery platform. As with all Ex Libris releases, the participation of the Voyager customer community of over 1,300 global sites has been instrumental in this latest version.
