Tue, 27/11/2012 - 09:23. BibLibre and Elidoc are proud to announce that they have signed, on October 1st, a partnership to fit the interest of greek libraries for Open Source software.
Elidoc perfectly know the hellenic libraries need, and BibLibre is a leader in Open Source software for libraries, including Koha, Integrated Library System, and Drupal, Content Management system.
Paul Poulain, co-owner of BibLibre, is happy to sign this partneship, it's the final point of a process that started last year, during the 20th pan-hellenistic conference in Thessaloniki. This conference proved that greek libraries are highly interested in Open Source softwares.
Robert Molho, Elidoc Managing director, is commenting this partneship: "The large and fast expansion of Open Source software is now a fact in many business area. The quality of the best tools is well recognised. Hellenistic conjuncture also point that those high performance softwares for a reduced price can be a very good deal".
This partnership associate local experience of Elidoc and technical expertise of BibLibre, promoting Koha, a grade-A ILS. Greek libraries will be able to deploy this ILS with an efficient help and guaranty for a quick migration. The two companies also share their experience of Drupal, leader of Content Management Systems.

Elidoc is a greek company more than 20 years old. It's one of the leader of library automation in Greece, with more than 60 customers in Academic, governement and public libraries, and a heavy experience in cataloguing/data migration.
In the last 10 years, Elidoc extended his activity to museums, archives automation, and e-learning.
The company promotes Free/OpenSource softwares since 3 years.

The Drupal module "opac" (http://drupal.org/project/opac) is the glue between the ILS and Drupal. The connector for Koha already exist, others will be developed)
