Grant Palmer is appointed as Managing Director of Axiell UK from February 1st. Former MD Jim Burton is appointed as Vice-President of Axiell Professional Services to strengthen focus on managed service provision. Axiell is the leading supplier of IT systems and services to European archives, libraries and museums.
Axiell has moved to strengthen its team in the UK and its focus on managed service provision by appointing Grant Palmer as Managing Director of Axiell UK. Jim Burton moves on to take a role as Vice-President of the new business area, Axiell Professional Services.
Grant, previously Managing Director of Lorensbergs, a leading supplier of booking and print management solutions, brings wide experience of the library marketplace and associated specialist technologies to his new role and has previously worked in partnership with Axiell both in the UK and Scandinavia.
In his new role as Vice President of Axiell Professional Services, Jim Burton will be responsible for sales and marketing of managed services within the newly established Business Area Axiell Professional Services to meet emerging customer needs.

Grant Palmer spent 17 years running his own financial services companies prior to becoming Managing Director of Lorensbergs in 2001 where he has overseen the growth of the business to being a leading provider of E-booking solutions to libraries world-wide. He led the trade sale of Lorensbergs to MPS Public Solutions GMBH in 2011. Grant has an extensive background in all aspects of business strategy and operational delivery within the public and financial sectors as well as a strong personal commitment to delivering best value, innovative solutions for clients.
Jim Burton has been Managing Director of Axiell Limited, the UK's leading local authority library IT partner, since 2008 when the company was acquired by Axiell Group. Previously he founded and led Esprit Limited which developed innovative solutions in information management for children's services and adult social care public sector organisations and was acquired by OLM. Jim has extensive experience in the library and information technology sector both on the customer and supplier side and has a BSc in Electronic, Computer and Systems Engineering.
