LYRASIS announces candidates for open Board of Trustees Positions

Abstract: The LYRASIS Board of Trustees Nominating Committee has finalized the slate of candidates. The selected candidates will serve three-year terms, beginning July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2016. The open Board positions include 2 at-large representatives from any library or organization type, 1 public librarian and 1 state librarian. The election will be held in April and will be open to all LYRASIS member voting representatives from member institutions.


ATLANTA – (February 12, 2013) – The LYRASIS Board of Trustees Nominating Committee has finalized the slate of candidates. The selected candidates will serve three-year terms, beginning July 1, 2013 and ending June 30, 2016. The open Board positions include 2 at-large representatives from any library or organization type, 1 public librarian and 1 state librarian. The election will be held in April and will be open to all LYRASIS member voting representatives from member institutions.

The Nominating Committee Slate is:

2 At-Large Representatives (from Any Library or Organization):

  • Richard Clement – Dean of Libraries – Utah State University
  • Alberta Comer – Dean of Library Services – Indiana State University
  • Elizabeth McClenney – Deputy Director – Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library (GA)
  • John Szabo – City Librarian – Los Angeles Public Library (CA)

1 Public Librarian:

  • Gina Millsap – Chief Executive Officer –Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library (KS)
  • David Singleton – Director of Libraries – Charlotte Mecklenburg Library (NC)

1 State Librarian:

  • Julie Walker – Deputy State Librarian – Georgia Public Library Service
  • Ken Wiggin – State Librarian – Connecticut State Library

The LYRASIS Board of Trustees is the governing body for LYRASIS. The Board of Trustees ensures that the organization provides the services, leadership and insight required to support information professionals and the organizations they serve.
