Duluth, GA —April 3, 2013. The Statistics Canada Library has gone live with Evergreen. Equinox Library Services Canada provided data migration and training services and will also provide system hosting and ongoing technical support services. 117,000 bibliographic items and almost 3,000 patrons were moved to the new system. Their new online catalog can be viewed at https://statcan.egcatalogue.ca/eg/opac/home
The Statistics Canada Library provides support to employees of Statistics Canada through access to bibliographic and information services. In addition to implementing Evergreen in their library, they have also sponsored several development projects that will be included in version 2.4 of Evergreen and beyond.
Equinox President, Brad LaJeunesse, says, "We are very proud to have Statistics Canada live as the first library hosted by Equinox's Canadian subsidiary in our Toronto datacenter."
Equinox Library Services Canada is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Equinox Software and was founded in response to Canadian customers who requested their ILS be physically located in Canada. The parent company, Equinox Software, was founded in 2007 by the original Evergreen designers and remains a leader in open source solutions for libraries. Their goal is to engage and support a rapidly growing open source community while assisting libraries in moving away from expensive proprietary vendors and products.

Evergreen is a robust, open-source integrated library system best known for its unique ability to meet the needs of very large, high-transaction, multi-site consortia. However, it has also proven equally successful scaled down for even the smallest libraries. Evergreen now supports almost 1,200 libraries of every type-public, academic, special, and school media centers across 4 countries, 31 U.S. states, and 8 Canadian provinces. King County Public Library System, SCLENDS, and the NC Cardinal consortiums are all currently running Evergreen.
