The Kuali Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Mike Allmendinger as our new Director of Communications. In this role, Mike will oversee all activities related to communication, marketing and outreach both within the Kuali community and to our external constituents.
These duties will include strategic planning and development of key marketing messages and activities, including web and social media, press releases, event communications, community connection and partnering, new member on-boarding, and contact management for the Kuali leadership and the Executive Director.
Mike comes to the Foundation after serving Cornell University for the past 21 years in a variety communications roles. Most recently, he was the Campus Readiness Lead for the Cornell Kuali Financial System (KFS) Implementation Project. In this role, he was the principal contact and spokesperson for the project and was responsible for communications both within the KFS team and to the project's broad range of stakeholders. He provided oversight of the project's web and social media presence, in addition to managing its stakeholder outreach, events and presentations.
Prior to his Kuali experience, Mike served as Producer/Director and Satellite Videoconferencing Manager of the Cornell Media Production Group. There he managed media projects large and small, helped develop and program the first distance learning system for Cornell Cooperative Extension, and created programming to support faculty research and extend the Cornell brand.
Jennifer Foutty, Executive Director of the Kuali Foundation, welcomed Mike to the community by remarking, "As the Kuali brand becomes more mature, it is important that we are able to communicate to the higher education community the value of the Kuali path. Mike will work with the entire community to make us more effective at that goal, as well as keeping all the communications coordinated within our community. We are so pleased to have him join Kuali! We are also pleased that Cheryl Medley, who has been working part-time in the Communications area, will move full-time to the Kuali Student project."
Mike will be a very visible part of our outreach to the Kuali community and beyond. Please look for and welcome him at any of the upcoming events that Kuali will be participating in, such as the NACUBO Annual Meeting, EDUCAUSE, or Kuali Days 2013 in San Diego.
You can reach Mike at anytime at email@example.com or 607-342-2343.
