Abstract: C & P Bibliography Services is pleased to announce DaredevILS, a new initiative that offers free access to the Koha open source integrated library system to librarians and library school students.
Forest Hills, NY, August 19, 2013 - C & P Bibliography Services is pleased to announce DaredevILS, a new initiative that offers free access to the Koha open source integrated library system to librarians and library school students.
"Open source integrated library systems like Koha bring personal ILS installations within the reach of anyone with access to a server and system administration expertise," says Jared Camins-Esakov, founder of C & P Bibliography Services. "Unfortunately, most people do not have a spare server in their back pocket, and the technical barrier to entry for server administration can be quite high. With DaredevILS, we can eliminate that barrier, and give librarians and library students the opportunity to familiarize themselves today with the technology they will be using tomorrow."
DaredevILS installations are available to librarians and library school students in the United States and Canada on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information about DaredevILS, and to sign up, please visit http://www.librarydaredevils.com/
C & P Bibliography Services works with private and institutional collectors to help them manage their book collections intellectually, physically, and virtually. C & P offers support, hosting, and development for online catalogues to special libraries, using Koha and other open source systems to reduce libraries' costs and increase their capabilities.
