October 9, 2006. Infor announced today that the library consortium "Het Markiezaat" in the Netherlands has selected Vubis Smart. "Het Markiezaat" was founded in January 2004, following a merger between the public libraries of Bergen op Zoom, Woensdrecht and Steenbergen. The consortium includes the libraries of Markiezenhof, Zonneplein, Halsteren, Hoogerheide, Ossendrecht, Steenbergen and Dinteloord. The Markiezenhof library incorporates the main and most extensive collection and also functions as a separate information center.
The library consortium boasts 28,000 members, a circulation of 1.1 million and 400,000 patrons. The consortium will be migrating from the Tobias automation system to Vubis Smart. In the coming months, Infor will convert the database, configure the system and train staff. The anticipated live date is February 2007. "The decision to migrate to Vubis Smart followed an in-depth review and analysis," says Nanno Nanninga, Consortium Director. "We are very much looking forward to working with Infor in the months ahead."
