Duluth, GA —December 9, 2013. Equinox is proud to announce that J.R.Clarke Public Library in Ohio has gone live on Evergreen as part of the Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL). Earlier this fall, the entire consortium migrated to Equinox's hosting service. For more information, the COOL combined catalog can be viewed online at http://www.cool-cat.org/.
Equinox oversaw the data migration of J.R. Clarke's almost 60,000 bibliographic items and will continue to provide advanced technical support for the entire consortium. The COOL project received initial funding from the local libraries and an LSTA grant from the State Library of Ohio.
J.R. Clarke Public Library was first organized in 1917 as the Covington-Newberry Township School and Public Library. It was renamed in 1950 in honor of a former state librarian. Its current location opened to the public in 1981.
Shae Tetterton, Equinox Project Manager, says, "This was an exciting project for many reasons. They are the 10th library to go live on Ohionet's COOL system and the first to migrate to their new ESI hosted environment. Their new Director, Krista Gibson, was a delight to work with and did an amazing job for someone so new to the library and migrations. I look forward to seeing what libraries will join COOL next!"
