The Marvin Memorial Library, http://www.shelbymm.lib.oh.us went live with Evergreen on the Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL) shared catalog on February 20, 2014.

The new Consortium of Ohio Libraries is administered by OHIONET in conjunction with the member libraries. Marvin Memorial Library is the eleventh library in Ohio to migrate onto the system. Please visit http://info.cool-cat.org for more information about the Consortium. The direct link to the catalog may be found at http://marvin.cool-cat.org.

Evergreen, the open source ILS originally developed by PINES (Public Information Network for Electronic Services) for the Georgia Public Library Service, is used by over 1,000 libraries across 31 states, 4 countries, and 8 Canadian provinces. This count only includes reported installations, as anybody is free to download, install and try it out for their library.

If you have any questions about Evergreen or joining COOL, please feel free to contact consortium president Lisa Murray, Director of the Cardington-Lincoln Public Library in Cardington (murrayli@oplin.org or 419-864-8181), or Kathy Webb, Director of the Marvin Memorial Library (kwebb@oplin.org or 419-347-5576).

Tony Bandy is the Technology Specialist at OHIONET in charge of supporting COOL. He is also available to answer questions about the consortium at tonyb@ohionet.org or 800-686-8975, ext. 19.
