BLACKSBURG, Va. – VTLS added multiple features to the latest version of its MozGo mobile app for libraries, with an emphasis on third-party service integration. MozGo now includes integration with Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, OverDrive and 3M Cloud Library.
MozGo lets patrons visit the library's Facebook page and Twitter feed within the app's interface. The library can also display upcoming events within MozGo with descriptive text and links. Events automatically expire after the date passes to avoid cluttering the page.
Using MozGo, patrons can search a library's collection of e-books from both OverDrive and 3M Cloud Library. These e-books also appear in general catalog search results. Patrons can check out available e-books or place holds, download directly to their devices and see the status of their e-books within MozGo. Circulation is included with 3M e-books, allowing for all activity to happen seamlessly within the initial app interface. VTLS plans to incorporate circulation for OverDrive e-books as well.
MozGo also displays book reviews powered by Goodreads along with the item information when looking through the catalog, and book covers appear in search results.
MozGo can be used by both iOS and Android devices and is branded as each individual library's own mobile app. MozGo is also platform-independent and is designed to work with most major library systems.
