Syracuse, NY. Innovative today announces Santa Cruz Public Libraries is live on the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS), making the California library one of the first Polaris "go lives" following the acquisition. The library consists of ten branches and a bookmobile, offering extensive library services to residents of Santa Cruz County.
A former Evergreen customer, the library selected the Polaris ILS for its established credibility with public libraries and the ability for staff to easily produce accurate reports. Following a smooth implementation, the library has seen greater activity in its first week live on the Polaris ILS. With an annual circulation over two million items and 550,000 holdings, Santa Cruz Public Libraries increased its number of workstation volunteers to help its patrons with the new system. However, with its intuitive user interface, patrons quickly adapted and maneuvered through the library catalog with ease.
"We are excited to make Polaris' excellent services available to library users and library staff," said Janis O'Driscoll, Santa Cruz Public Libraries' Division Manager, Programs & Partnerships. "Everything you do at the Library just got easier."
"Innovative will continue to provide public libraries with a fully-integrated solution, open access to data and the opportunity for libraries to experience unprecedented growth through the Polaris ILS," says Scott McCausland, VP of Polaris Sales.
