IPSWICH, Mass. and WILTON, Conn. — June 3, 2014 — EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and Infotrieve Inc. have partnered to allow mutual customers to combine their search, content access, rights management and document delivery in one platform. Customers will be able to use Infotrieve's Mobile Library as their e-content access and management platform while using the powerful search and extensive metadata from EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS). The partnership provides a one-stop shop for research, content access, rights management and document delivery.
Mobile Library users will be able to search the expansive metadata available from EDS in addition to Infotrieve's own catalog of more than 60 million citations. Content that is available to users through their company's journal or database subscriptions and e-book holdings will be identified using Mobile Library's rights management module. For content that is not available via an existing subscription, Mobile Library's document delivery functionality will be used to instantly procure the content.
Infotrieve's Chief Technology Officer Fred Pandolfi says, "Infotrieve's partnership with EBSCO will allow mutual clients to further optimize their access to content by integrating an industry leading discovery service with the award winning rights management, collaboration, content management and document delivery tools currently available through Mobile Library."
EBSCO Vice President of Product Management Tad Goltra says researchers will have all the tools needed to discover, procure and manage content by integrating EDS into Mobile Library. "Integrating EDS into Mobile Library will provide users with a single solution to search their own holdings, uncover additional content to which they do not subscribe and order that content, all from a common platform. This will save researchers time and companies money while providing a best of breed solution."
EBSCO Discovery Service provides a fast, single search of journals, magazines, e-books and other content. EDS is also able to incorporate the results from some of the most valuable subject indexes combining full-text searching for completeness with subject indexing for precision and accuracy. With EDS, superior relevance ranking ensure that users receive the most relevant results based on currency, document type and other factors.
