David Walker, EBSCO Industries Chief Financial Officer, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of EBSCO Industries, Inc. effective immediately.

Walker joined the company in 2000 as general manager of Military Service Company before becoming EBSCO's vice president of Acquisitions in 2001. As vice president of Acquisitions, Walker led EBSCO in completing approximately 40 acquisitions.

After assuming responsibility for managing the Finance Department in 2010, Walker was promoted to CFO effective July 1, 2010.

As Chief Operating Officer, Walker will maintain oversight of Finance, Tax, Legal Services and Mergers & Acquisitions, with the addition of overseeing Accounting, Administrative Services and Corporate Communications.

"With David's proven track record I am confident in his abilities and look forward to his continuing contributions to EBSCO's success in his new role," EBSCO President and CEO F. Dixon Brooke, Jr., said.

"I am humbled by the opportunity to serve in this role. We have excellent leadership guiding the teams in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Legal Services, EBSCO Capital, Administrative Services and Corporate Communications, and I am honored to work with them. As a group, our simple goal will be to enable our business units to do business more easily and more profitably. This goal will be achieved by striving for excellence in our communications, our work product and our customer service. We will embrace change and accountability, as it will strengthen us," Walker said. "Looking ahead, EBSCO's potential and appetite for growth has never been stronger. We each have the opportunity and responsibility to be part of this mandate for growth. Finally, it has been a privilege for me to have worked under the leadership of EBSCO Chairman Jim Stephens and Dixon during my tenure with the company, and I look forward to supporting Tim [Collins] in his efforts to grow the company to new historical highs," he added.

Incoming EBSCO President and CEO Tim Collins said, "David's aptitude, experience and collaborative, results-driven approach make him well-suited to take on this expanded role within the company. I have enjoyed working with David over the last 14 years and have seen his many contributions to our success. I look forward to working with David as we strive to grow our business over the coming years."

In conjunction with this change, Heather Moore will become vice president of Accounting, and Jason English will become vice president of Finance & Tax. Moore has been with EBSCO since 1991 serving in multiple capacities, with her most recent appointment as Accounting manager and assistant vice president. English, a Certified Public Accountant, has been the director of Tax for EBSCO since 2005.
