SummaryOver 1,000 small- and medium-sized libraries worldwide have chosen to automate using ResourceMate from Jaywil Software.

GUELPH, ON, CANADA, Dec. 17, 2001 – Over 1,000 small- and medium-sized libraries worldwide have chosen to automate using ResourceMate from Jaywil Software.

A church in Georgetown, Texas became the 1,000th registered user of ResourceMate. As a bonus they receive a free year of technical support and updates. “The past few years have been very exciting as we've been looking forward to this milestone,” says Brian Watson, president of Jaywil Software. “Sales have steadily increased over the past three years.”

Volunteer and professional librarians from a wide variety of businesses and organizations are choosing ResourceMate. The software enables full cataloging, searching and circulating of resource library materials including many timesaving built-in features. A favourite tool is 'Import-from-Internet' which allows users of both the Regular and the Plus version to import complete cataloguing data for free from the Internet.

"We've also introduced a new service called EntryMate which is a real timesaver," says Watson. Jaywil's EntryMate takes a user-supplied list of ISBN's (standard book numbers) and converts them to cataloguing data that the program reads in, thus saving hundreds of hours of hand cataloguing.

Toy libraries, zoos, law offices, medical labs, genealogical societies, synagogues, not-for-profit organizations, and even prisons have chosen ResourceMate to manage their collections. “We've kept our price low so that small libraries can afford the program,” says Watson. “Our annual support fee is one of the lowest of any library automation vendor.” We're continuing to add features to our current version, especially our 'Plus' version to attract more specialized libraries,” says David Abramsky, marketing manager. "For instance, last year we introduced into the Plus version the ability to import cataloguing records in MARC format Well now we've just added the complement to that: the ability to export to MARC as well."

ResourceMate is a Windows-based resource library automation software program designed for churches, clergy, synagogues, professionals, corporations, private schools, non-profit organizations and more. It is available for download at the company's web site (www.resourcemate.com), through their toll-free number at 800-815-8370, and through several popular library supply companies in Canada and the U.S. The regular version costs US$149.99 and the Plus version retails for US$299.99. A free demo and tutorial is available at the web site. Jaywil also offers Network Search Screen” (an OPAC search station that sells for $25 per station), Web Search product $65, EntryMate service (converts a list of ISBN's into full cataloguing data for ResourceMate), and annual support the first 3-months free).

Jaywil Software has been developing library software since 1993. They are over 1,200 registered users of ResourceMate in Canada, the US, and around the world.
