(Softlink International) The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) Library has partnered with Softlink to implement the Liberty Library Management System, a move that has allowed the reference library to offer online access to their extensive catalogue of sporting resources.

(Softlink International) Sydney Catholic Education Office schools are excited to be providing students with an engaging new interface for their Oliver v5 library solution. The new interface, ‘Orbit’, was designed specifically for junior and middle school students and is proving to be an inspiring tool for young readers. Orbit enables students to personalise their own library home page, using different backgrounds, avatars and colour schemes.

(Softlink International) Key findings include the statistical linking of school library funding and the number of professionals employed within the school library and NAPLAN Reading Literacy results. Softlink’s Managing Director, Nathan Godfrey, said these results have been consistent over the survey’s five year history and reinforce industry research that continues to link well-resourced school libraries to improved literacy. Additional findings indicate that school library budgets stabilised somewhat in 2014, with a smaller percentage of schools reporting a budget decrease.

(Softlink International) The 2013 Australian School Library Survey has revealed a positive relationship between a school’s literacy results and the library’s resourcing levels.

(Softlink International) Preliminary findings from 2013 Australian School Library Survey suggest prioritising school libraries could help lift literacy levels, says Nathan Godfrey Softlink Chief Operating Officer. For the fourth year the survey, conducted by Softlink, identified a positive relationship between library resources (budgets and staffing levels) and improved reading results.The findings revealed schools with a higher than the national average NAPLAN reading literacy score reported higher levels of library funding and staffing. Similarly, school libraries with low student literacy scores reported lower levels of funding and staffing.
