If you are attending the ALA conference in Washington this June, we'd like to invite you to one of three exclusive presentations of the Bibliovation Library Service Platform (LSP) delivered by librarians from the South Central Library System (SCLS). Since 2008, SCLS librarians have helped LibLime design and deploy one of the best circulation subsystems for supporting consortium use of union catalogs.
We know how busy you are at ALA - so we're providing a limited offer special book-friendly backpack for those who sign up for one of these three exclusive presentations.
SCLS staff will be providing three 15-minute overviews of some of the strengths of resource sharing in a Bibliovation union catalog. The presentations will be available in the LibLime booth 1840 at:
- Sunday morning 6/26 from 10:30 – 10:45
- Sunday afternoon 6/26 from 2:30 – 2:45
- Monday morning 6/27 from 10:30 – 10:45
Bibliovation is a 100% web-based, hosted Library Services Platform. The South Central librarians who will be providing these presentations are excited to share the union catalog circulation support they have helped design in Bibliovation. SCLS has over sixty independent member libraries sharing a single Bibliovation union catalog. Because of the functionality designed within the Bibliovation circulation subsystem, each member library has generous autonomy within the shared catalog. Each library manages their own circulation policies; their own messaging and receipt communications; their own holds policies; and their own overdue and related fines policies. Bibliovation has been designed by librarians for librarians and these powerful circulation functions that support the SCLS library workflows and relationships within the union catalog are an example of that successful development approach.
Stop by the LibLime booth #1840 near the ALA store to learn more about the capabilities of Bibliovation. We have limited the three SCLS presentations to 15 minutes but we will be available for one-on-one demonstrations or conversations throughout the conference.
