New localization customizations to improve service and efficiency are the highlights of Evergreen's new Release 3.9, the latest semi-annual software update.
Notices can now be generated based on the preferred language of the cardholder.
The staff portal can be customized to include local links and documentation. Links and services are able to be added, changed or removed as needed locally for each library or branch to improve efficiency.
A new Simple Reports option focused on ease of use and simplicity is available in the staff client. Intended to provide an alternate access point for running reports, Simple Reports will coexist with the main Reports interface used for more complex reports. Reports and schedules can be edited at any time as needed.
Libraries can share their carousels of cover images of new titles or topical displays developed for the Evergreen catalog to an external site, such as the library's own web site.
Library staff may upload a custom jacket/cover image for a given bibliographic record via a new interface for display in the staff client and OPAC, useful for local titles.
Evergreen can now act as an OAI-PMH data provider, exposing the catalog to harvesting through the OAI2 protocol for larger metadata projects.
