Tours of Preservation Resources

Library Systems Newsletter [November 1998]

Preservation Resources, a subsidiary of OCLC, Inc., will be offering two tours of its Bethelem, PA plant on Friday, January 29, 1999, during the ALA Midwinter Conference in Philadelphia. Each tour will include a microfilming studio, darkroom, microfilm vault, digital imaging studio, and an overview of the scanning process.

The first tour will leave Philadelphia by courtesy bus at 8:00 a.m. and will return by 1:00 p.m.; the second tour will leave Philadelphia at 1:30 p.m. and return by 6:30 p.m. The tour of the facility itself lasts two hours.

For reservations, contact Preservation Resources via e-mail indicating whether the morning (Tour A) or afternoon (Tour B) is preferred, whether a seat on the bus is needed or if the visitor will provide his or her own transportation.

Preservation Resources is a non-profit organization devoted to the reformatting of library and archival materials. It was previously known as the Mid-Atlantic Preservation Service. It has been a division of OCLC since 1994.
