CompUSA also makes PCs

Library Systems Newsletter [November 1998]

CompUSA has been a major seller of PCs for several years, but recently it has also become a major manufacturer. It recently introduced a high-end Pentium II processor with a clock-speed of 450 MHz, 64 MB of memory, 9.6 GB hard drive, 40x CD-ROM drive, 56 Kbps V.90 modem, 8 MB AGP card, 64-voice PCI sound card, twin speakers, and Windows (95 or 98) for $1,899.95. An Intel 10-/100 network card adds $71 and a three-year on-site warranty adds $129.97. There is even a five-year on-site CPU/monitor warranty for $239.97. Installation is available for $149.97 in most areas. CompUSA will also custom-build PCs.
