For years we have been directing librarians to the Foundation Center for information on foundations that provide funding for information technology. While the Center has had a great deal of information available, much of it was buried in several directories such as the 2,100-page Foundation Directory and the 400-page National Guide to Funding for Information Technology. The Center has now simplified the search by releasing Grants for Information Technology. This 120-page publication lists all grants of $10,000 or more for information technology, regardless of the claimed funding priorities of the funding source. The other directories tell the reader what a foundation "says' it will fund, but the new directory tells what they actually have funded. There is a good keyword index to the grants. A geographic index makes it possible to identify funding sources with a special interest in specific areas of the country. The price for Grants in Information Technology is $75.
