PMSC offers media cataloging over the Web

Library Systems Newsletter [July 1998]

Professional Media Service Corporation (PMSC) , a supplier of audiovisual services and cataloging, is mounting its database of more than 495,000 bibliographic records on the Web. Nearly 200,000 of the records represent original cataloging in the MARC format by professional catalogers at PMSC. The database is currently growing at the rate of 40,000 titles per year. WLN will host the database, and its WebLN software will be used for searching. The MARC records can be downloaded to a file and then uploaded into any system capable of accepting USMARC records.

Access to the database will be available for an annual subscription of $595 for a single user license.

The 200,000 PMSC-created records are also available on ITS.MARC, the Web-accessible MARC database offered by TLC. The cost to ITS.MARC customers for this option, designated A/V Access, is $595 per year.
