Three vendors of automated library systems-Geac, Innovative Interfaces, and DRA-have been included in VARBusiness' fourth annual ranking of the 500 top value added resellers and integrators in North America.
Geac ranked 64th, up from 79th a year ago. It realized $381 million in sales in 1997; however, only a small fraction of that was from automated library systems as the company has products in the construction, financial services, and hospitality/tourism areas.
Innovative Interfaces ranked 207th, down from 206th a year earlier. It had sales of $60 million-all in the library automation market. Its sales were up $5 million over a year earlier.
DRA ranked 295th, down from 268th a year earlier. Its sales dropped $3.2 million from a year earlier to $35.4 million-all in the library automation market.
Ameritech Library Services was not included in the survey as it is part of a larger corporation which has its major market in an area not covered by the survey. As a standalone unit, ALS would have ranked approximately 125th.
