Libraries with Dynix systems are now able to obtain an improved PAC for Windows from Ameritech Library Services. There is no charge to licensees of versions 1.0 and 1.1, but it is necessary to install Release 171 to utilize the enhanced product. The new features include the display of diacritics, improved Z39.50 searching performance, improved broadcast searching, enhanced Boolean searching, and more room for the description of indexes.
Libraries considering the Dynix PAC for Windows product should be sure to evaluate 1.2 as it is a significant improvement over the earlier versions.
