Endeavor revenues up

Library Systems Newsletter [December 1998]

Endeavor Information Systems ended its fiscal year on September 30, 1998, with revenues of $17.2 million, up 92 percent over the previous year. New customers for the year total 63, a 69 percent increase over the previous year. At the end of the fiscal year, the total number of Voyager customers was 348-a number that has subsequently risen to 360.

The year also saw an increasing emphasis on Sun as the hardware platform of choice. Almost 93 percent of Endeavor sites now use Sun servers, and almost all new customers are choosing Sun.

In what must be a source of special satisfaction for its staffers who formerly worked at NOTIS, on November 11th Endeavor announced the official launch of Voyager at Northwestern University, replacing the NOTIS system which was developed there and was the basis for NOTIS the company which was later sold to Ameritech Library Systems (ALS).
