High resolution confusion

Library Systems Newsletter [January 1999]

In our August, 1998 issue we noted that high-end PC to TV Converters are now available. The wording of the article suggested to some that the display on the TV screen would be at 1,024 x 758 dots per inch. That is not the case. Conventional TVs cannot achieve that level of resolution. What we should have said is that one can export from a PC with a high-resolution 1,024 x 758 monitor at 1,024 x 758 dots per inch. That results in a better image on the screen than exporting from the PC at a lower resolution.

Apparently not all computer superstores carry the high-end converters. LCD City (888-523-5234) accepts phone orders for the $199 Itek MultiPro if a local store cannot fill the order.
