The dramatic increase in viruses on the Internet has prompted ISPs to install anti-virus software. By loading an anti-virus product on their servers and updating it as frequently as daily, ISPs will be able to provide more complete and current virus protection than most of their customers can achieve. The leading supplier of anti-virus software for ISPs is Global Network Internet's eDoctor, but most of the other anti-virus products are expected to become available in an ISP version. Libraries should urge their ISPs to provide anti-virus protection as part of their service.
