Innovative shows Kidsonline

Library Systems Newsletter [July 1999]

Innovative Interfaces demonstrated its new Web-based children's public access catalog at the American Library Association Annual Meeting in New Orleans. The product offers a library a configurable and customizable interface that provides younger users an intuitive and fun screen display. The product includes a standard set of menus and pictures (including hundreds of images in GIF format), as well as a full suite of help screens that explain terms and functions. Younger users can also search specially scoped children's collections and "featured" lists.

Kidsonline runs on completely independent Web server software, but additional central site hardware is not required. No HTML programming knowledge is required to customize and configure screens. A KidsOption file controls images, fonts, colors, and table columns for every screen.
