We don't have a vendor anymore - we took the server over earlier this year. I answered the questions in response to the vendor we were using before we took it away from them. (Type: Public)

We are already Open Source. (Type: Public)

Library cat already Open Source (Type: Public)

We migrated this year, so we only have six months of experience with Evergreen under our belts. As with any migration experience, there are still issues that must and will be addressed. (Type: Public)

We migrated to Evergreen from III in 2010 and have been generally satisfied. We would like to see some improvements made and have partnered with other libraries to sponsor some development. We are very satisfied with the support and hosting services we receive from Equinox. (Type: Public)

We already use an open source ILS (Type: Public)

Our migration to Evergreen has been a wonderful thing for us. Best upgrade we have had for over 30 years. (Type: Public)

We migrated to Evergreen last May, [...] is still getting the bugs out. (Type: Public)

All responses related to the "company" refer to the [...] consortium, as member libraries deal directly with [...] staff and not with Equinox. (Type: Public)

Our library has been a member of the [...], using the Evergreen software, since 2009. While there have been some glitches along the way, we are overwhelmingly pleased with the product and the consortium, and would not consider another ILS in the foreseeable future. (Type: Public)

Larger libraries in PINES are stymied. We want to implement RFID and automated materials handling systems, but because of an ancient SIP protocol, we're stuck. Other self-check needs are ignored. I realize that some of this is the state administration, some limitations of software. GA is way behind the development and while it intends to implement oft delayed 2.1 version, no one can tell us what this means for self-check or other advances. Search functionality is still dreadful. However, price is right--there is zero cost to library systems who implement PINES and they are pushing to get every system in GA involved. As a larger library system, it is simply not meeting our needs other than being cost effective. There is definitely truth to the you get what you pay for situation. (Type: Public)

The Evergreen system is supported locally by a consortiun of 4 local public libraries and a community college. The layered aspect of the software is making it difficult to generate the specific types of reports necessary for really effective collection maintenance. The daily circulation module is more than adequate, the catalogue interface works well and the module for email notification of overdues and holds works effectively and is well received by patrons. Re: "ILS support issues": We provide most of our own support and handle support for other libraries in our [...] consortium. (Type: Public)
