SYRACUSE, N.Y., February 19, 2014 – Polaris Library Systems, a trusted provider of library automation software for public libraries, has received top ratings in the seventh annual Library Automation Perceptions Report.
Published by Marshall Breeding of Library Technology Guides, the report summarizes Perceptions 2013: An International Survey of Library Automation, which represents responses from over three thousand libraries from 53 countries. The survey covered library automation systems and topics such as performance, development and support.
Polaris received the highest scores for large and medium-sized public libraries in all twelve categories, including:
- General integrated library system (ILS) satisfaction
- Overall ILS functionality
- Effectiveness for print resources
- Effectiveness for electronic resources
- Satisfaction by customer support
- Company loyalty
"The Perceptions survey results clearly show the high degree of satisfaction our libraries have with the Polaris ILS functionality and our customer support," said Bill Schickling, president and CEO, Polaris Library Systems. "With LEAP, our new web-based library platform, and our cutting-edge e-content solutions with 3M, Baker & Taylor and OverDrive, Polaris continues to transform libraries' ability to truly connect with their local communities."
2013 marks the seventh year the Perceptions survey has been reported, however libraries weren't characterized based on their collection size until 2011. Since then, Polaris has dominated the categories for large and medium-sized public libraries by earning the highest scores for ILS satisfaction.
"Our tremendous success in the marketplace is due, in great part, to the open line of communication we have with our customers and the compelling references they provide on our behalf," Schickling said. "Polaris' vision is to have the best people, the best product, the best service and the best company in the industry and we are honored to see our corporate values validated through our customer responses."
