Press Release: Polaris Library Systems [March 26, 2014]

Scottsdale Public Library chooses Polaris Library Systems as new ILS vendor

SYRACUSE, N.Y., March 26, 2014 – Polaris Library Systems, a trusted provider of library automation software for public libraries, proudly announces Scottsdale Public Library has selected Polaris as its new integrated library system. Scottsdale Public Library will join over 90 libraries in Arizona who have implemented Polaris software, including Phoenix Public Library and the Maricopa County Library District.

Polaris was unanimously selected for its strategic vision to help advance the role libraries play within the community. This vision aligns with that of Scottsdale Public Library, who strives to increase circulation by reaching more patrons and demonstrating how the library is a valuable resource.

"We are truly honored to welcome Scottsdale to the Polaris family and look forward to building a strong, collaborative partnership together," said Scott McCausland, vice president of sales, Polaris Library Systems. "We are very excited to call such a forward-thinking library a Polaris customer and be able to provide them with more opportunities to engage their community through our library software."

Among the products Scottsdale will implement alongside the library catalog are Polaris Fusion and Community Profiles. This will allow patrons to access historical documents digitally and view search results for community organizations and events alongside physical and e-content materials. The library will also employ SimplyReports, an advanced reporting tool for staff members, to access more comprehensive data and streamline workflows in the process.

"We are excited to join our neighboring libraries in the Polaris family," said Kathy Schoepe, library technology manager, Scottsdale Public Library System. "We believe this partnership is a perfect fit that will help us reach our community and remain relevant well into the future."

Scottsdale Public Library will go live on Polaris in June of 2014. For more information about Polaris and its integrated library system, visit www.polarislibrary.com.
