NORTH BETHESDA, Maryland, USA, June 21, 2016 – Progressive Technology Federal Systems, Inc. (PTFS), today announced that it has integrated ClearTerra LocateXT software with its flagship Knowvation GS Geospatial Content Management Systems (GeoCMS) to enhance Knowvation's ability to geotag unstructured text.
PTFS's Knowvation GS GeoCMS software is recognized for supporting non-traditional geospatial information and other non-standard geospatial products. Analysts need to efficiently extract numerical geospatial coordinates from textual documents to properly geotag these files. LocateXT technology can automatically extract thousands of variations of geo-coordinate formats including (DD, DM, DMS, UTM, and MGRS). The LocateXT Application Programming Interface (API) integration utilizes the LocateXT extraction engine and makes it available for use by Knowvation during the ingestion process. In addition, data that has already been ingested can be geotagged using Knowvation's robust metadata editing tool with underlying LocateXT functionality.
PTFS utilizes the LocateXT API to extend the Knowvation GS platforms in order to better support, process and mine unstructured data for numerical geospatial coordinates. "While PTFS's tool already had the ability to identify geospatial place names from text and subsequently auto-geotag documents, the integration of LocateXT software allows Knowvation GS to find every occurrence of any type of geospatial data in an unstructured document," said Dan Quinn, PTFS Vice President. "Using this technology extends Knowvation's analytics platform to geotag documents that contain numerical geospatial information. With this capability, PTFS can support many more customer use cases, which require discovery of Area of Interest (AOI) data when performing a geospatial location based query", continued Quinn.
PTFS will demonstrate Knowvation GS technology with the LocateXT API in Booth 2504 at Esri's annual user conference being held June 28-30, 2016 at San Diego Convention Center, in San Diego, CA. PTFS will raffle three Syma X5C Explorer drones to booth visitors.
