Follett unveils MyDestiny learning platform

McHENRY, Ill., March 12, 2019 – Follett today announced the launch of MyDestiny, a powerful new learning platform that combines an expansive library of ebooks and Open Educational Resources (OERs) with built-in artificial intelligence to help teachers find quality, standards-aligned resources and to guide students on their learning path from discovery to mastery.

MyDestiny meets students at their level in real time with access to more than 40,000 ebooks from a variety of publishers and more than 750,000 high-quality OERs. MyDestiny leverages machine-learning capabilities to allow users to easily locate recommended content, all aligned to national and individual state standards.

"MyDestiny is a powerful platform that can adapt to the needs of every student, connecting them 24/7 with a repository of relevant and vetted content," said Nader Qaimari, president, Follett School Solutions. "As student learning continues to evolve, they need access to engaging materials that help enhance their understanding, boost their motivation, and allow them to study more efficiently."

Significantly, Qaimari said MyDestiny will save teachers invaluable time by allowing them to quickly build highly engaging lessons in minutes, not hours, freeing them up for greater interaction with their students. MyDestiny uniquely allows educators to:

  • instantly align content to standards;
  • identify student achievement gaps;
  • track student growth and comprehension;
  • respond quickly to students' immediate needs; and
  • receive support and access to professional development opportunities.

"MyDestiny is all about delivering education with equity, efficacy and quality," said Terry Nealon, senior vice president of classroom solutions, Follett School Solutions. "It takes the strengths we have as a company in terms of content, services and scalability, and combines them all with future-ready technologies. It is a major step forward allowing teachers to attend to the individual needs of every student."
