Press Release: Biblionix [November 30, 2020]

Biblionix fee reductions and COVID-19

Austin, Texas – November 30, 2020 – Biblionix's subscription model is helping libraries with COVID-19 related budget challenges. If usage of the Apollo ILS is lower, normal company policy is to reduce fees at renewal time to match the actual usage over the previous 12 months. This is counter to common behavior of other vendors; locking-in prices for years, and in some cases applying automatic yearly increases.

COVID-19 shutdowns typically result in lower circulations. For Biblionix customers, that can mean significant price reductions in their renewal invoices; in Apollo as well as its options.

The Anacortes Public Library in Washington was thrilled to see a 24% reduction over last year's invoice.

"We received our annual bill and wanted to thank you for the price adjustments due to decreased circulation. How amazing that a company would lower our bill like that!", said Jeff Vogel, director. "Thank you so much."

On the flip side, in normal times libraries can see usage increase. When this indicates higher fees, a friendly one-year notice is typically sent to the library. When the new fees are in place, they are guaranteed not to increase for three years. New customers also have a guarantee that their fees will not increase for 3 years.

This is normal Biblionix policy, reflecting just one reason behind the deep partnerships with our customers.
